Hi, I’m Renata and I am passionate about food and helping people to improve health through nutrition! I was a vegetarian for 23 years. Today, I’m a pescatarian. This means I eat fish as my only meat source. I have only sardines! :)

My interest in nutrition comes from studying how the power of nutrients in the simple foods we find at the farmers’ market or local grocery stores affects and heals the body. I also enjoy watching the Food Network.

Becoming a nutritionist was a way for me to share and help to educate others. As a Mind Body Eating Coach, I can help to empower you to make the best food choices related to your specific concerns. Many things, like chronic dieting, overeating, and overall weight concerns, hold us back from living our best life. I use my background and knowledge to help you make friends with food, be mindful during meals, and nurture your health.

I’ve been where you are. I’ve followed restrictive diets, and I’ve come to understand that they don’t do any good for our health or our mind. Take a calorie-restrictive diet, for instance, they make us worried about numbers, feeling hungry, and with cravings that cause us to “cheat” and feel a failure. They don’t work long-term!

I suffered from digestive issues on and off, starting at a young age. I used quick over-the-counter medication for relief and felt that was good enough. It wasn’t until one day after dinner, that pain right under my ribs, began to concern me. It wasn’t always there, but it was reoccurring. After a trip to the Dr, and a liver ultrasound, nothing was out of the ordinary. My liver enzymes were normal and I tested negative for Celiac Disease. At my follow-up appointment, I met with an M.D. who had a holistic background. Under her suggestion, I stayed away from gluten for 14 days, going through the elimination diet, and balancing my microbiome. It started to work, I began to feel better and back to my usual self. The pain was completely gone. That was my answer - nutrition. My passion grew even more.

Before you can focus on your health or weight goals, these issues need to be addressed. This is where I come in. I use my Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition (University of Bridgeport) to start with your “gut” health and work to get that in check. From there, we move on to a nutritious way of eating that works for you. It is my mission to help you improve your health through science-based nutrition and support healing!
